So here, I think, is a new one. I have both hens and rabbits free-ranging in my back yard. Tonight, when I went to collect my eggs from the chicken coop, I found one of my female rabbits sitting in the nesting box. I reached underneath her, and sure enough, she was sitting on 4 eggs, keeping...

Great, thanks for the input. I got access to a large lot of aspen, so I think I'll definitely go ahead with that.

Any thoughts/experience using aspen as an alternative to pine for nesting box bedding?

I thought that birds weren't supposed to eat uncooked rice because it will expand in their stomach and harm them; maybe that's just a myth?

Are chickens okay eating cooked rice? I assume that uncooked rice is not okay, as with other birds. If they can eat it, do they like it?
