    Broody Rabbit

So here, I think, is a new one. I have both hens and rabbits free-ranging in my back yard. Tonight, when I went to collect my eggs from the chicken coop, I found one of my female rabbits sitting in the nesting box. I reached underneath her, and sure enough, she was sitting on 4 eggs, keeping...

    Chicken Coops:

I think many/most chicken tractors have a coop incorporated, so I don't think you would need a second coop: https://www.backyardchickens.com/chicken-coop-tractor.html

Great, thanks for the input. I got access to a large lot of aspen, so I think I'll definitely go ahead with that.

    Cooked Rice?

I thought that birds weren't supposed to eat uncooked rice because it will expand in their stomach and harm them; maybe that's just a myth?

    Cooked Rice?

Are chickens okay eating cooked rice? I assume that uncooked rice is not okay, as with other birds. If they can eat it, do they like it?

Feeding chickens cooked chicken? Is it ethical?

Just to play devil's advocate here, do we really need to feed our chickens chicken? I mean, I'm sure it doesn't do any psychological damage to the chickens. They don't care, and they will never know better. But we know. You know that you did it. I think it feels creepy because it is creepy. That...

    My chickens love weeds!

I've been letting my 4 pullets run around on the side of the house the last week, and they are absolutely loving the weeds. Do I need to worry about this, or can I assume that they know what they're doing?

Introduced my lab to my chickens today

Looks like a very nice dog. I'm still skeptical about trusting my Labradoodle with the chickens. He never shows any aggression toward them, but definitely an acute interest. They're more annoyed with him then scared.

    My Suburban Chicken House

Very impressively done. I also used an exercise pen while I was constructing the coop and the pullets started easily flying over that 4' barrier by about 6 weeks, so it was a very good motivator to finish quickly.
