Please read ALL of the links, paying attention to the last paragraphs. Note that the rad levels one month later were near 'normal'. Just as some are convinced that vacines cause autism, silicone implants cause auto immune problems, even though the numbers don't bear it out. The first film...
Perhaps if those concerned would find some factual information, it would alleviate some of the fears.
Fallout - this is the dirt/dust that gets airborne after a blast, there hasn't been one.
Reactors - they are fine, not problem with those, it's the spent fuel rods in a cooling pond that is...
I did not measure humidity levels this time. The last few hatches, I would add water every other day. For days 18+ I put paper towels in the troughs to increase surface area.
IIRC, incubation levels run around 40/45 % then at 18+ around 60 %
Day two of lockdown, I added water, then...
I set 24 eggs hoping for 10-12 hatch.
Thus far 22 have hatched. 12 hens, 10 roos, .......I think.
Incubator is the Brinsea Octo.
The black sex links are easy, the red/gold, not so sure.
There is one in question, white on the face, gold and grey elsewhere,
when I blow the down out of the way...

You need or should I say contact him and ask what to do?
I have called and emailed.
How long did you have to wait to get it..
2 + weeks
The door and the frame were out of alignment. The door was installed so that the top outside edge and the bottom inside edge were binding with the frame. I loosened the frame and got as close to square as possible, and then shaved the bottom edge of the door down. It works now, but will...
I kept mine 'cooped' for a week. The first day I let them out of the run an hour of so before
sunset. Then a few hours earlier, by the weekend they were out most of the day.
I did notice that if one got too far from the run and coop the rooster would call and all would
come running.
Good...
awoke to a freezing house, and a cool incubator. I turned on the gas logs in the fireplace and set the incubator on the hearth. I would turn it around about every 20 mins.
The temp got down to 80. A few hours later the power came back on.
I plugged in the incubator, hoped for the best, but...
I am on my second hatch with the Octagon Eco 20.
I fill both troughs with water and the humidity will stay in the 30's for a week.
For lockdown, and to get the humidity up, I added 2 paper towels laying across the bottom and
folded into the water troughs, to act as a wick.
My first hatch was...
I think that farm raised salmon does have Omega 3's,
just not as much as 'cold water' Salmon. So, the natural,
would of course be better to eat, but the farm raised is
by no means bad.
Don't pass up the farm raised salmon for a double bacon cheeseburger!
I had a great hatch on some ebay eggs. The problem was that there was a claim of
several hatches, and I was sent some un-proven pullet eggs. Well now I have 'proven'
them, but..... 4 that hatched are in fact Black Sex Links, the others...
anyones guess.
This seller has excellent feedback...
I had set 20 eggs, 16 made it to lockdown, 14 hatched.
What is my hatch rate?
70% ? 87.5% ?
Of the original 20, the four that had no development, were the ones
that the thermometer was sitting on. Poor choice of placement on
my part, but I have learned something, so not a waste.
I had...
Saw a listing for Cinnamon Queens and I inquired as to what rooster and hen were used.
The response was Cinnamon Queens are a breed.
I thought that they were a type of sex link.
Please educate me!
