Her beak fell off by the next morning. It's looking okay...not bleeding or anything. She attempted to eat today, some tuna I set out for her. She's still really shocked by the transition to our backyard, and still deciding if she's going to go broody again or not. She's not laying and not...
I set her up with watered down feed and hardboiled egg. As of now, she's not eating anything. She tries, and I can tell it's too painful for her. She also keeps clawing at the beak. My guess is I'll clip it off if things haven't changed in a day or two.
We adopted a 2 year old hen today from a neighbor today. She was the sole survivor of a nasty racoon attack. She has some broken feathers on her back. She likely survived because she was broody. We have 7 hens, and we hope to intergrate her into our flock.
In the meantime she has her own space...
My 3 year old Australorpe Miss Marple, began laying in late Feb early March.
5-4 weeks back we realized that she isn't crouching anymore, and have since never seen her lay. Seems like she didn't lay for very long, maybe a week or two.
She doesn't seem as interested in our feed as usual, and I...
She's never been broody. But she's not acting interested in the nesting box or anything of the sort. She even hesitates to grab a worm...A WORM! It's so weird. She's been just sitting around, but eating a whole ton. She usually fills her crop up with stuff, but lately it's been pretty empty. But...

Thanks! My pulley is being treated for cocci. Hence the source of the fluid in her crop. I had read that you shouldn't feed vinegar and corid at the same time, as it counteracts each other. I also read that the vinegar wouldn't be good for a sensitive gut from the cocci. Thoughts on this?
I've heard that you can use anti fungals for all sorts of chicken cures. I have a cocci pullet who may also be suffering from a sour crop. I notice that Lotrimin Ultra has a different active ingredient than others suggested. Butenafine hydrochloride. Is this safe to use on my pullet?
Thank you, that's really helpful! And you know, I just checked and she doesn't seem to have a foul smell at all. Perhaps this is all blockage from the sores in her gut? Can that happen? She continues to poop semi-solid/liquid, often looking very different than one another. There does seem to be...
Two of my pullets started to show symptoms of Cocci 2 days ago. One had bloody stool and was listless. Once I noticed it I isolated her, and shortly thereafter I noticed another listless pullet whose stool soon became bloody. So they are in crates next to each other in the house. The rest of the...
I've got two sick 4 month-ish pullets inside. I suspect cocci. They are on Corid and I've been watering down medicated feed. But I am looking for something with high nutrition that is basically liquid, as they aren't eating at all. Any suggestions? I was thinking purred boiled egg or yogurt...
