    Once again , Thats for all the great advice. We have 2 new bantams that hatch last night and are doing well. One more question , When do they start eating and drinking. We have offered water and starter feed but have not started on either one ??

    Thanks for the replies. Its been right at 24hrs since the first small hole was poked. ON EDIT : The eggs are from a Bantam and its on day 19.

    We are hatching our first egg in the incubator. Its time for them to break out of the shell. One has made a small hole in his shell last night. We here him chirping but he has not made anymore progress cracking his shell. Would it be alright to help him a little?

    we did put the D E in the coop. we are using hay for their bedding. Is the hay o.k. to use for bedding? thanks for the info.
