Hi all, I could really use some help with this eye problem that my little white silkie has. He is 2-1/2 months old and has always been the smaller of the bunch. He started having a yellowing on he feathers around his eye which looks to be a discharge, but now the eye is starting to close up...
Thanks for the suggestions! I would guess you could be right about the cochin part. The lady that had this chicken also has cochins. I just wish she wouldn't have told me it was a bearded silkie if it wasn't. He is beautiful though!!
I was told this was a bearded silkie, however, I don't see any resemblance to a silkie. I'm new to all this chicken business, so I certainly am not an expert on what breeds are what. I have some little white silkies, and they don't look a thing like this guy! LOL If it helps, he also has...
I was told that this was a bearded silkie, however, it doesn't look like a silkie at all to me. He's very pretty and I really like him, but I would like to know what breed it really is. I'm knew to raising chickens, so I certainly don't have all the answers! LOL The picture doesn't show his...

Wow, I didn't know it could be something so bad as ringworm that can also be contageous to me! I already soaked his feet in warm soapy water today and then put Skin So Soft Oil on it because that's all I had. I hope that didn't hurt him! I will definitely check into the pet supply that you...
Hi all, I'm new to the chicken world, but loving it already! I have just acquired a bearded silkie that seems to have a terrible problem with his feet. I have been researching and considering mites or fungus, but I'm just too new to this to be sure. Any help you could give me would be great...
I'm glad you posted this because I will know what to do when I finally get my chickens! LOL I can't hardly wait to get them, but I'm waiting until we get back from a trip down to Florida for a week. By the way, can anyone tell me what you need to do when you leave town for a week? Do you need...
