These were on sale at TSC. The bin they were taken out of was supposed to be silver laced and some type of bantams. I wasn't there when they were purchased by my husband and daughter who HAD to have the little brown ones because they looked like cookies.... (they've been named Sugar & Spice) I...
All of my chickens free range half the day on 14 acres.... they eat only what they get leftover from the horse's food and the insects/grass etc. they find on the farm.
I know this isn't great but it's the only other image I have of them so far... will try to get some better pics...
oh I hope not!! yikes! There is a real chance they are though (cornish rocks) One of the other breeds listed was that... Do you really have to kill them? If so, what age??
My husband went out for groceries and came home with 8 baby chicks! lol.... they were apparently on sale at TSC.
They were supposed to be silver laced wyanndotes and 2 bantams... but I don't think they are that at all and I have no clue what we've got!
Can anyone here help ID what breed these...
Unfortunately the hen was not interested in the broken egg chick. She fairly quickly noticed it was a stranger and was pecking at the little guy/gal. I had to remove all three chicks that I tried to introduce as I thought it would be best to raise them together under the heat lamp vs. just the...

the plastic has been removed most of the way but as I tried to remove it - parts of the shell came off with the tape.... the plastic was only covering the hole and not the entire egg so it can breath just fine with it still attached... I didn't want to pull off more of the shell to remove it...
Well it's been a few days now and the chick is STILL somehow alive! I've been keeping it warm by holding it close to my body under my shirt etc. At night I put it under a heating pad with a layer of crotched blankets and a wet hand towel for humidity set on LOW for a couple of hours so I could...
I was checking on my broody hen today and discovered a egg that has accidently gotten knocked around and broken. Part of the shell is now missing (about the size of a quarter) and the white membrane that holds the shell together is torn. There is a tin amount of blood and it appears the chick is...
I had been but not as often this past week because I essentially "gave up" when the eggs got smooshed and the temps dropped from the heat lamp not working for a little bit when it fell. I had candled them just before that and saw nothing but air sacks - not veins on any of them. I was surprised...
