Help! ELSA is laying eggs :)

I know someone on this thread said I don't need an incubator. I have a lot of hawks and falcons...would it be smart to hatch them myself and keep them in a run until they get some size on them? Would Elsa and Louie "adopt" them after I turn them back loose. As a general question, if Elsa...

    How to calm a goose?

She got a Gander mate? Mine travel well together in the same cage, but boy if you separate them....

So Elsa laid an egg this morning! But she is not sitting on it. I read she will lay one every other day for a while before she starts laying on them. Shoukd i get an incubator? And what kind?

    Lethargic puffy hen

What is a good average life expectancy (not taking predators into account) of a golden comet?

    Lethargic puffy hen

Thank you a bunch for the analysis. I cremated her already. The pic of that full crop looks like some of my hens. They get exercise all day free ranging and since we started they have gotten much more muscular.

    Lethargic puffy hen

This is the second time this happened to one of our hens. She just stopped moving around. Wouldn't jump on roost, and just felt swollen and puffy. Stomach felt like full of water. Barely eating. After two days i lovingly put her down this morning. Having had to do this 3 times in the last...

    Fencing advice

We fenced in a couple acres and used 6' fence rolls, and 7.5' T-posts. Im now adding an electric fence to the bottom 6 inches of each t-post. Its about 1,500 feet. I'm having to add the electricity because of foxes who at some spots can scurry under the fence. Also adding a skirt that's flat...

    Male pilgrim weight

I am wondering. I figured 2 years was full grown but he's not at 15 pounds and eats just fine.

    Male pilgrim weight

We also feed, all flock, waterfowl feed (not in water), scratch, and they graze on 2 acres all day. The struggle is real between the hens and geese.

    Male pilgrim weight

Oh he never stopped eating! Always has had a voracious appetite. We always give them corn on the cob and other vegetables. Elsa loves apples too. We are with them all the time so size wise he actually seems bigger since we got them.

    Odd "cut" on bill?

Elsa was fussing the entire operation! :) she was in the room with him. She goes batty when she is separated from him even for a second. She was a little confused with him being unresponsive as it took him about 3 hours to be able to stand afterwards.
