Final update, after 3 months I butchered this batch. None had every layed an egg.

11 hatched so far, and more on the way...

Broodies are the best. I believe every backyard flock should have at least 1 broody hen. My youngest son and my grandson's eyes light up when hey see our broody hens even walk by a clutch of eggs.

I got movement! Candled a few eggs and found one with movement, so I know at least one is alive....:weee

Checked the incubator last night around 10 pm and right on the money at 100 degrees. I walk in my shed this am before leaving for work and can't believe my eyes: 77 degrees. I did a triple take and yes, it was 77 degrees. My thermostat had gone out and i figure it was probably out for maybe 3...

My hot water heater thermostat went out this morning, so i chunked my little personal heater, that we keep in our bathroom, into my incubator. It has a thermostat, fan and ceramic heat source. I think they run about $15 bucks @ walmart. It did the trick until i replaced my original thermostat...
