Cackle Hatchery has a 15 chick minimum, but they also have City/Town specials where you can get as few as 5 birds. They put in a heat pack this time of year and yes the heat packs are safe :)
Chicks when they are tired kind of wilt like a flower lol Chicks can and will sleep standing up with their little wings touching the floor and their head down. After the chicks get to 4-5 days old they don't do this as much.
That is about the same amount of snow we have and add that on top of what we already had from Thursday, it sucks. I scooped out an area for the girls to scratch around this morning and each shovel full was stupid heavy compared to the last snow. Back side of the storm is still due to go...
