The EE braggers thread!!!

Well being as EE's are so wonderfully unique and colorful I thought it would be fun to share some pic's of my young birds. Still not sure of sex, right now I am thinking pullets? They are somewhere around 8-10 weeks old. They were part of my friends project pen and she just had way too many chickens, so I took a few :).
Those colors! And those feet! They are amazing!

We have 19 new 3 week old's. Six are EE's, this one is Runway. She is the most curious and attentive one of all. She is my favorite so far. She is always trying to get all the attention.

Wow, the post count doubled since I last checked in. It's been a while. Here's one of my EE. She lays a large grayish green to olive egg every other day, almost without fail. The color varies with every egg; it's kind of neat that way. I put three of her eggs in the incubator along with three blue eggs from another EE. Our roo is a BO. Anyone here ever mix those two? Are the resulting eggs laid brown, typically? It doesn't matter to me but I'm curious. I just can't wait to see what the little critters are like. She's such a pretty and smart bird.

Outrun Acres, that bird is beautiful!

My bonnie does the same thing and is almost the same age! she is the only one that will jump on top of their water bottle to get a birds eye view of the situation! hopefully gonna get some 3-4 week pictures up this weekend.

Everybody birds are absolutely beautiful!! After about 25 years of chicken keeping off and on and lots of different breeds, I have come to love the EE above all others. I have 19 2 week old EE's that I am currently raising, 3 roos and the rest pullets, I also have 3-3 year old girls. THe roos will be my first experience with the EE boys as I have only experienced the girls and hoping they are as nice as the girls are.

Wow, she is so beautiful and unusual! I'd love to have one like her. I also love the photo with the cat and her both being totally nonchalant

Because your hens lay a green or blue egg, their female children will lay green eggs when mixed with a brown egg layer (the BO). They will be a lot fluffier though, sounds like some cute chicks!

All of my EE boys have been good boys, once they got over their teenage hormones stage. I chose all the blue egg layers out of my mother's flock as my own chickens, I have always found them to be the nicest and calmest. I crossed mine to a New Hampshire Rooster and all the girls laid a nice green egg. They were even heartier and healthier than the mothers and I had some for 15 years (still laying).
