I used a small cup of water, it worked fine. On day 19 I took the cup out and filled the middle section at the bottom and humidity went up to around 60%.
My first batch is about to hatch now - brahma babies. :)

just got mine yesterday and trying to learn things, but the manual is pretty... exciting? :)
Anyways, I think the turning numbers mean minutes, i.e. by choosing 90 it turns every 90 minutes.
