    Thanks all ~ I guess to clarify ~ I had a volunteer help me build the coop (it is at a mission) since I am not a builder. We had opague roofing material but not enough so the builder built a more traditioanl roof over the hen house. The girls are about 6-7 months and had not started laying yet...

    Dead Meat Bird

    Our meat birds are almost 9 weeks. I am learning how to butcher tomorrow. One of our meat birds was dead this am! did I wait too long, is it possible he had a heart attack? What do I do with him now? Arggghhhh and help! This stinks.

    My meat bird (about 5 weeks old) pooped today and there was red in it. The stool is also very loose. I moved them into their own brooder because they were getting too big for my other brooder and chicks. So ... I am just curious as to what this could be.

    Well~ our chick hatched this morning, but the shell is stuck to his right wing! He is moving around a lot, his peep is strong! Will the shell work itself off? Thanks for your help!!
