My chicken's wattle and comb are peach colored instead of red. She seems lethargic and has her beak open...seems to be breathing fine though. Any ideas as what is going on with her? Or what I should do for her?
We are in Maine and we just got our first snow! I have 10 Brahmas- with the feathery feet- should I let them decide on going out or staying in during the day during the snowy season? I know they would chose to be outside, I'm just worried about cold feet!
I have used a 2x4 for a roost, 4in. side up, since then someone has told me that they would rather roost on the more narrow side-2in side up. Any input?
An equal mix of carbon and nitrogen will speed up the composting process- in other words, layer greens and browns, add a little lush yummy soil now and then too for the microorganisms.
The others are not pecking her- I'm worried that they may start though! It's only odd because all of the others are so much fluffier than her. She looks a little sparse. I haven't figured out how to upload pics- any suggestions?
All of my chick are happy and healthy except for one. From the start she was smaller, had less fuzz and a wee bit of a neck tilt. She is totally happy, eating and drinking, alert, smart and keeps up with the rest of the babies.
