Update! The babies are doing great! Pokey's new name is Hope and her younger but bigger amd bossy sister is Faith.
We moved them to a temporary brooder last night. They had no interest in the starter feed and water, and called for me quite a bit and several times throughout the night. Finally...
I haven't seen movement for about 10 days. Two of them weren't active when we started lockdown but I put them in there anyway. Safe holes are done just in case! The other is resting with Pokey watching over. Cutest little things ever.:love
I'm headed home here shortly to check on them. As of lunch Pokey was still chewing and yawning. The other was bumping against the pip. I'll do the safe hole in the third internal popper. Praying for the best but do I need to worry about contamination if he's already died?
Hi Knighstar! That his little beak. I'm back at work and hoping someine will tell me what to do with the internal pipper by the time I get home. Thanks for your thoughts!!
Update: I came home for lunch and the little guy is still active. Appears to be chewing and chattering his little beak. Is that a sign that he is still absorbing the yolk? Current photo is attached. 59 hours since first pip.
I candled the other 3 which were all doing great about 10 days ago...
Still no progress but he peeps and looks like he's chewing. Then he rests. 54 hoirs since first pip. No blood by the whole so I open it up just a bit. I'll attach a pic. Thanks SO much for your help. I'd be freaking out with you all!
Oh thank goodness! I just checked him and can hear him still lightly pecking. Thank you so very much for being here -- I feel so much better having chatted with you all!
