    I have a canning question! I basically taught myself how to can making jam for the first time last summer, so I am very new to this... I know that acid content in the recipe of what you're canning is an issue and I'm not sure why, but I want to can some homemade BBQ sauce and Spaghetti sauce...

    Prayers needed for a friend whose coop burned down.

    Good things about Chickens or "What my chickens have taught me..."

    Thought it might be fun to post things we like about having chickens... or things we've learned from having chickens, and see how many DIFFERENT ones we can come up with. I like that having chickens means my husband and I get out of bed earlier... even on weekends (to open the coop.)

    Lots of salt in the water... like 1/2 c. (in addition to transferring to ice water as soon as they are done boiling.)
