    Okay, great! Thank you so much for your info. I read another article that said to use medicated vaseline to push it back in...did you use something like that as well?

    One question...did you push the rectum back in immediately or did you soak and treat her for a couple days first? We gave her a sitz bath and used the witch hazel on her today and my daughter will do it again tonight after school...should she try to push it back in tonight? I don't want to wait...

    Limping Hen

    One of my girls started limping after Roo pounced on her to do his thing...d*mn men If I hadn't seen him do it I wouldn't know why she was limping either...it's was a sprain and after several days she was fine.

    Haven't been on here in a long time,but so glad you changed the title cuz it's helped me emmensely as I discovered one of my hens yesterday with this problem. Now I know how to care for her...thank you so much. I've already separated her from the rest now I'll get the epson salt and start caring...

    Congrats! Mine didn't lay consistently at first, but it's been a couple of weeks now and we're getting at least two eggs everyday.

    Honestly, I enjoy the company of my 'gals' sometimes more then the company of my other family members You're perfectly fine!

    The black and white hen is definitely Barred Rock...I have to and they are the loveliest fo my girls...very friendly and affectionate. It looks to me as though you (your cousin) have a few Rhode Island Reds there as well. You have a nice selction of birds.
