My coop and run are at one shady end of my fenced in garden. I find that my 9 girlys like to get out in the afternoon, and it seems they stick to the fence edges. They dont like it for the 3 or so weeks that they have to wait for the plants to establish. I will say they LOVE new corn, so next...

I have a Buff Orp hen who is mean and nasty. She tries to attack me any time I go out to the coop/pen. I just think shes a bossy BRAT!

I am just curious how other people store and rotate their eggs. Do you have special places in the fridge? Do you have boxes marked with date? By day, week, month? Please share how you make sure to use the oldest first!

I have the same thing going on with my girls. I have that roost on the outside roosts and that curl up together next to the outside of the coop. I am really starting to think its due to the weather..its in the high 50's at night..

The run is covered so I dont worry about them outside. The house is well ventilated and last night it didnt feel that warm in the coop....so should I wait and see if someone takes over his job or start finding a way to heard them in? There is no door on the coop so I cant lock them in for the night.

Thanks for the reply..I can 100% guarantee there is no critters or mites in the coop....hmm so maybe they just like it outside

I am so sorry this happened. I'm not sure where you live but there may be laws on the books that allow you to protect your "livestock". I know that I can here...I would find out and let the neighbor know if there is such a law. Here I can shoot a dog such as this...even if its only with a pellet...
