Ok am I a chicken idiot?
I have 9 young girls. 7 have been laying an egg a day for months Now suddenly I am lucky to get 3 a day. My Auracana was the first to stop..easy to tell because I am not getting my blue egg anymore . They are all eating normally, drinking normal, pooping normal, playing...
My coop and run are at one shady end of my fenced in garden. I find that my 9 girlys like to get out in the afternoon, and it seems they stick to the fence edges. They dont like it for the 3 or so weeks that they have to wait for the plants to establish. I will say they LOVE new corn, so next...
I am just curious how other people store and rotate their eggs.
Do you have special places in the fridge?
Do you have boxes marked with date? By day, week, month?
Please share how you make sure to use the oldest first!
I have the same thing going on with my girls. I have that roost on the outside roosts and that curl up together next to the outside of the coop. I am really starting to think its due to the weather..its in the high 50's at night..
The run is covered so I dont worry about them outside. The house is well ventilated and last night it didnt feel that warm in the coop....so should I wait and see if someone takes over his job or start finding a way to heard them in? There is no door on the coop so I cant lock them in for the night.
I had to get rid of my Roo last week because they aren't legal where I am ...Suddenly tonight I noticed that my girls aren't sleeping in the coop tonight. Its dark and they are all hanging outside either on the ground or on the outside roosts....Is this normal? I just wondered if its because its...

Back in Feb I had 3 hens in the garage and 6 babies in the house with 2 incubators going. Then in March I had 3 hens in the garage, 6 older babies in the house and 8 fuzzy's in the house. All the babies are now in the garage with the hens ( in different pens of course) and the hens should be...

So sorry you have to go through this and do the HORRIBLE wait! The best and hardest thing you can do is just try to ignore it, forget about it, and just plain be in denial if you want. What you need to remember is as of right no one KNOWS anything for sure. What you do know is your baby...
HI ALL Thought I would come over here and join the Washingtonians! I am in Spokane on the East side of the state. My chickys are officially legal now! (even though I was technically grandfathered, eh oh well)
