Friends of mine who are new to ducks bought Runners because the research they did led them to believe that they would eat bugs and not garden plants.
They have discovered the ducks really like pea plants and don't seem to know that they are supposed to eat bugs.

My wonderful little banty hens have gone broody and after hatching some quail eggs for a friend he's given me some guinea eggs to put under them.
Has anyone had experience with doing this?
she's several years old, has picked her favorite nest box and hasn't moved in 4 days.
but she only has one egg under her. I've been leaving it under her thinking that when it doesn't hatch she'll stop brooding.
Is this the right way to go about it? or should I take it away?

Raising two keets for the neighbor and figured I'd move them out in the chicken coop/yard when they got to be as big as the young banties out there, but don't know if I can.
