    Not using heat lamp

So at a month old they should be wise enough to go to the heat light if needed, and if they choose to stay out of the brooder that's ok

    Not using heat lamp

We moved our 1 month old chicks and brooder out to chicken run. The brooder door is open and has a heat light in it. At 10:00pm I checked on the chicks and they were all out of the brooder, so I put them in by hand and closed the door. It got down to 11 degrees celsius. Will they go to the...

3 boxes, only on in use?

I have 7 hens and 3 nesting boxes. They only use 1 box, there's a line up to get in to it. Boxes are identical in size, shape and material used for construction. I have taken eggs out of the THE BOX and placed them in the other 2 to entice, not a chance. Could I board up THE BOX to force them...

    Chicks getting bored??

I put a small perch for them to climb on in the brooder. Started out about 2" off the floor them slowly moved it higher. We also put a 6"x 10" piece of plywood on the floor of the brooder with a small amount of chick feed on it for them to scratch at.

    Veggies?

Our chicks are 6 weeks old, they are on step two feed now. On nice days we let them outside in their run where they have access to sand. What type of treats could we give them.

    Question about food/treats and water..

We made a 45 degree roof over our food tray, raised it top chest height. Not much waste and no poop in it.

Our chicks are 34 days old. Could we give them a cob of corn to peck at, with corn on the cob or just the cob?

You would hate to miss the true chick experience, any chance your husband could move out the coop.
