Hi Everyone-

My 6 month old Silkie has wry neck again. We did this at the end of August. She was malnurished and the vitamins and new food with attention to feeding and watering helped after about 2.5 weeks. She did better her neck straighten out and she was fine. I went away for 10 days, my DD took...
Well good news. Peaches is completely better. She is back with the group, eating and drinking, in and out of the henhouse by herself. We are comtinuing with the viatmins and increased protein. I stopped the antibiotics a few weeks ago.
Mine is slowing imporving, we are seeing a daily difference. She is still twisted and she seems to have a bigger probem when she is excited or stressed. We are continuing with the vitamins and keeping her protein intake up, I am stopping the antibiotic (she has been on for a week). She is...
We have moved her to a pen in the yard, she is much happier. Her head is straighter when she is in the ground. She still stresses and her head goes under, but she is looking better day by day. She does get into the yard with supervision.
I am intrested in this, I also have a buff and she is tiny. She also had wry neck, but we have been feeding her and making sure she is drinking. I do not see a differnce in her weight yet either, however her feathers look healthier.
She is so lonley looking. She is on the deck, see below. I have a small back yard, see below. Is she OK not doing the chicken things....scratching, digging, dirt bathing? I took her to the garden this morning and supervised the visit, it went well until they all discovered a garden treat...
So I have a silkie with wry neck, she is on the road to recovery, eating and drinking well, head straighter. She has been seperated from the flock for days now. I want to put her back in the yard for some time on the ground, you know to be a chicken. The others peck at her and the silkie...
Thank-you for your story - It is a reality check. Most people have been positive about treating her and I need to give it a try, I will not keep her if she is suffering extensively. She is my 12 year olds and Sky already saw one of her chicken half eaten by a raccoon. As of right now she is...
I have her on Poly-Vi-Sol 3 drops twice a day (since Wednesday), Vit E 400 units divided in half twice a day (since Wednesday), and a Selenium 50mcg crushed and divided in to twice a day (since yesterday). She is getting electrolytes in her water (since wednesday) and today I added the...
