Seeking advice; 2(?) month old peachick has compacted lump of food lodged in esophagus

That's great! I'm glad it worked it's way through. Two a.m. huh? Guess you didn't get much sleep last night.

HELP!!! Pullet with a poop problem is making me worried!

A vet is best. If you could handle her I would recommend gently washing her bum and patting it dry to see what it looks like. I would just soak her a bit and them shwoosh the water with your hand to try and remove as much poop as possible without touching her. It could be something from...

4 day old chi k and swollen vent?

Go out to your yard and find an area of grass that has never been fertilized or treated with chemicals. Dig a piece up that is 4 inches wide and at least 2 inches deep. Put it in with the chicks grass side down. They will peck at it, climb on it and pretty much make a mess. This prevents and...

Seeking advice; 2(?) month old peachick has compacted lump of food lodged in esophagus

Can you gently massage it up? Have a pair of tweezers and a helper nearby in case the lodged food comes up. Is she drinking? I wouldn't give anymore food for now.

How old is she? What do you feed them? Does she have access to grit and grass?

    Adding new chickens

Thank you for the thoughtful advice. I will keep everything in mind and let you know how it goes. I do have one run that is a dog kennel with a roof. I tried finding something temporary for them to sleep in (animal proof) but no luck. I wanted to but something in the dog run so they could...

    Adding new chickens

Right now I have 9 girlz and 1 rooster. If I add hens it is only 2 or 3 at a time. I employ the usual protocols for adding new hens by separating them for a week or more so they can see each other etc. It's trouble to divide the coop in half but that's what needs to be done is adding new hens...

Now I understand. How is she doing?

    Fat hen, bomb stomach, problem.

What does this mean? "and the bone under she where can tell by putting fingers feels." Is she pooping? If she in not pooping (in my opinion) she needs to be put down. If she is not able to she is in excruciating pain. One of my hens had an infection inside her gut and her urinary...

Two hens dead in one week, now two are sick

I tend to agree hat it is the feed. As a precaution I would remove them from the coop for a few days in case the trouble is with mold or something else in the bedding or coop it's self. Start with fresh water and bedding and floor litter. Non GMO and organic food sells slow and the...

    Bumblefoot Drama

If you can't do the 'surgery' it's time to call the vet. Can you post pictures of her feet? If the infections are small you can soak in Tricide-Neo solution for fish. Don't separate her from her buddy. Chickens need other chickens to be around. They're very social. What are you using for...

    Watery poo

My advise would be to stop the electrolytes. Plain water for now. Is she eating chick food or grower? Medicated or non medicated? Is she in an area that is calm without a lot of noise or people handling her too much? Smell her beak. If it smells bad she has an infection. She just might be...

    Sick rooster

Sorry to hear about this. I see you're a 'new egg' so here come the questions. How old is he? What are his living conditions like? Are there other chickens? What do you feed him? Have you looked him over to see if he has any injuries? What does his crop feel like? For now make sure he has...

Most likely prolapsed vent but what is that on the end???*graphic sorry*

I'm so sorry about your little hen. It always seems to happen to the favorite ones. I'm glad that you saw what was happening and her not getting better and 'sent her on her way'. I wish more people were a brave as you.
