    I have 20 hens and I am only getting about 7 eggs a day. They range from 1-4 yes old. Is there anyway to figure out what ones are laying eggs? I need to thin out the flock before winter. T-R

    Hen with a thorn in her foot!

    I noticed one of my RIR hens was limping the other day and got to checking her out and found a thorn stuck in the bottom of her foot. When i pulled it out some puss came with it.     I got eggs out of the coop last night and then accidentally left them on the counter in the basement all night. It is fairly cool there and was wondering if they are still good. I did the float test on a couple and they both sunk to the bottom. Randy
