    Thats a little young for them to be exhibiting that behavior....2 1/2 months old and you say they are crowing and mounting hens???? Hmmmmm :-/ what breeds are they...I think you need to give them at least 2 more months if not 3 b4 kicking them to the curb a FOR SURE males.

    On the cat food....mine get it all the time....even if not by my choice..its good protien and doesnt make their eggs taste funny. Remember chickens LOVE maggots and rotting veggies too...but their eggs dont taste like flies and spoiled greens.

    What Breed Are These Pale Yellow TSC pullets?

    Cornish Rocks-you need to kill them at about 12 weeks old...or their legs collapse, they have heart attacks etc. Strickly a broiler and you need to feed broiler rations (so no pigging our with other chicks 24/7)...and TSC is a Cluster Poo this year with labling their breeds...WOW its BAD!

    I also have both and agree that the CM are "messier" and "wider" in the barring. Trying to get rid of all my BRs so I wont have the problem you are having. My Male CM are banded but then I got lazy and didnt do my pullets.

    PS get that hay outta there! BURN IT....put them on sand and you can also give them some ashes (from a burn pile of wood or fireplace) to dust bath in -will help.
