I am ENTIRELY new to raising goats. The two Toggie does I am going to buy will be a little over a year old when they move in. I know the people who have them and the doelings are currently with their mothers. I guess what I want to know is:
1. What are Toggie does usually like? Temperament?
2...
I have heard that before. Have you ever taken sheep or goats to 4H? I have no idea what kind of feed to give them for show quality animals.....also if I am feeding hay how many "flakes" per day should each animal eat?
I am positive this question has been asked before, but can goats and sheep be kept together?
I know they have to have different grain supplements and minerals. I am probably going to have 2 Suffolk ewe lambs and most likely two Boer does. Temperament-wise how would this work out? I realize size...
will the sheep avoid the cattle mineral if there are sheep minerals out? also cant I just feed a different complete feed ration for the sheep and cow?
how do you feed hay? free choice or twice a day?
I plan on raising two ewe lambs for 4H next year. I also want to raise a Holstein calf for 4H.
The problem is that we don't have the money to build two fences around two pastures....
I have read that sheep and cows can live together, but I have never talked to someone who has done it!
Any...
I have some questions.
Will they be fine in a 3-sided shelter all year?
If they aren't in a large pasture how much hay and feed should be fed?
Does hog paneling make good fencing for sheep?
I plan on having only 2 or 3 sheep for 4H! Thanks!

I am taking twice as many birds to fair this year as I did last year and I need a better way to transport them than using cat cages. If you have pictures or cheap ways to make carriers please post them! Thanks!
I keep my show birds at my dad's house (20-25 miles from moms). My question is: can i keep my chickens in cages? they would have to be outside but are mostly wood so how well would that work in wintery conditions? i could cover them with plastic during the winter months.
we had to put my dog of 11 years down today... and i was wondering when to get a new puppy because i heard it helps the healing process....so how long should we wait? thanks.
