I love your profile picture! Yeah, I miss all the roosters I've gotten rid of, too, even the mean ones. I don't know if any of my animals could do much that would make me not love them anymore. Colonel Sanders is a really cool name for a rooster! That's sad that he was mean . Getting rid of chickens is hard.
28! So you used to have 30 ... or was it more? I have 18, soon to be around 10. I kind of like having a small flock because they're easier to take care of, but I like the diversity of a large flock. And in the winter, their body heat will help keep them a little warmer. Speaking of winter, how's the weather? Getting cold yet? It's light-jacket-weather here, and it's snowed a few times, but it always melts. Oh, well. Looking forward to November! *HUGS*!

My flock is good ... but I'm discovering more and more roosters, or at least it seems to be that way. I'm really hoping a certain one will be a hen. She's really fluffy, kind of like a cat or something like that. Her feathers remind of fur, and I can't imagine those soft feathers turning into a rooster's rough hackle and saddle feathers . And I need to get rid of all my cockerels soon -or most, anyways- because one of them is getting big and I'm afraid he's going to be aggressive like his dad was.

Hi! Sorry it has taken me this long to reply! I have been busy the past day, so every time I have gotten on, it has just been to greet the new member's, and that's mW out it! Yes, my neighbors found out I was making home made bread for my family and said they would pay me to bake them some once a week. It snowballed from there, land when I realized I was making ten-fifteen loaves of bread a week and profiting close to thirty dollars a week, I decided I needed something to save up for. My mom suggested I get a dozen chickens, so I spent all of last year selling bread, raised twelve hundred dollars, and bought some chickens, built a coop, bought portable electric fencing in March of this year, and.....the chicken addiction started. I now have thirty five, and I think sometimes my mom regrets suggesting chickens. Lol. Oh, and four babies on the way if my broody follows through with her quest... I'm gonna be a grand mother!!
