Basic ? Do I need a light inside my coop? I do not have one now... My children are only 3 weeks old, yes I have them in the coop and they are just fine, but worried if I need a light in winter time ANY type of lite/heat lamp etc. TIA :)
, TY! South Ga, is a sticky, icky area, :), we have mosquito's seriously the size of 50¢ coins, so I think I'm going to use the dust bath with everything in it to always be on the safe side!
Ok reading all of the great responses, I feel ok by taking my 30 chicks out of the bathtub at 10 days to the south Ga weather, I kept the heat lamp in there, some are under it some are roosting depends on them. I feel comfy knowing the school of hard knocks for chicks works just fine!!!!
So, if I sprinkle 7 dust with dirt and ashes, and let them role when they want I should be ok? Just do not want lice we keep our yard well sprayed just want extra precautions!
What are some of the different bedding options for my girls & boys? Right now I have hay and chips, but want to uses shredded newspaper would this work?
The quail looking ones, from a local feed and seed store, the others TSC, I wasn't able to get either set someone else did for me, and of course NO ONE could remember the breed, I do know I have Rhode Island Reds,
