Our Chicken Palace on Wheels
We move it pretty much every day. The chicks and turks love being on fresh ground.
We have had some critters investigate (bent electric wire) but no one has been successful.
Its a great setup and easy for us to move around. Hubby built it out of dog kennel parts...
No -- we don't need a grounding rod because the cage is the ground. Trust me .. hubby (and the dog unwittingly) tested it. And yes, it works! ZZZAAPPP
The dog won't come within 50 feet of the tractor now -- lol
We finally have uploaded our chicken / turkey tractor pics to our page https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=61879.
We've been using this unit for about 2 weeks now and we love it. It's so easy to move and our babies love it. Fatten up sweetums!
Enjoy!
Hi everyone. This is my first time with meaties. We got 25 last week and they are doing great. I haven't lost one yet (could it be the ACV and vitamins?). I thought I was going to lose a little one with a bad hip (I know how it feels)
Anyways, my question is == some chicks are huge == at...
Thanks for the responses. The really weird thing is that they are all eating / drinking just fine. Even the one-eye'd one. I did make them the ACV + molasses cocktail last night. They seem to like it.
I just wasnt sure if runny poop was normal for newborns or not.
Thanks
Hi team turkey -- I am new to this whole baby turkey world. I picked up 5 chicks (poults?) from the Feed store on Sunday. They were born on 7/6. They are cute as buttons but their droppings are runny like crazy -- more like water than anything.
Is this normal? or am I being a paranoid...
Awesome results Tsarg! Mind if you give a few more details of how you raised your birds?
Did you free-range them or just keep them in a coop?
How much space did you need for 25?
Thanks
Donna
