Let's talk winter duck care!
What do you do about water if you're in the North and it snows and it below freezing for months?? Will they be fine without a pool? What type of waterer do you use for ducks in the winter?
well, we did have one in the run one day. that was the day after we had no eggs the day before, and got 2 that day. the two are the same age, and look identical, so I'm sure they're both female, plus they both have a clear quack :) I've looked around, but I'll look again!
My rooster is a pansy. He is letting the silkies have dominance over him! He is on the bottom of the pecking order in the silkie coop! And he still doesn't crow. He's like 25 weeks now or something around there.
I've always seen a few black specks on the comb, but it seems to be getting worse. could it be from giving them a lot of watermelon rinds and the comb getting wet and sticky and then getting dirt stuck on it? or do you think there's something else going on?
I'm So happy that my Spike and Vanessa are happy! They are just so content now that they're in with the silkies, they just lay there and preen each other and snuggle close, it is really sweet! awww!!!!
I don't think it was a duck egg, honestly. The shell was funny. BUT!!! This morning we got a duck egg for sure. Shell looks exactly like a duck egg does!!! There is absolutely no doubt about it this time! Woop Woop! 20 1/2 weeks.
