Hello everyone, I am getting my first pair of Sebastopol geese this week and I need to know EVERYTHING.
Feeding,
bedding,
can I house them on the floor of my HUGE coop at night?
Do they need specific waterer and feeder??
Hi all, I am getting my first pair of Sebastopol geese this week. And I have a "few" questions. Haha
I have had chickens for a few years but I've never had anything else, especially waterfowl.
1. Food during off season

I have 14 free rangs hens that are of laying age and I have seen each of them in the nesting box at one time or another.
But I am am only getting 8 eggs on a good day. I have even locked them up for a week in the coop/run and still only get a max of about 8. They have plenty of water, oyster...
I personally have done this 5 times since December and every one I have moved AT NIGHT TIME AND INTO A LOCKED CAGE Before hatching. I was worried about the chicks falling out of nesting boxes.
I created a nice nest and gently transferred her and eggs about 10pm.
I haven't had good experiences with adding live chicks. They just peck at the and for. BUT have added fertile eggs to 5 broodys and they have all done great.
Uggggggg bless it's little heart. I am not sure. I have had this happen also and lost most of them.
The last one I ran and turned on my little incubator and put it in there.
Maybe try putting it under a heat lamp?? BUT NOT TOO HOT ya know?
Ok, found this tiny shell-less squishy egg in a nesting box today.
All of my hens are established layers and I don't have any that are close to starting.
I have gotten that shell-less "beginner" egg before and that's not what this is. It is like it came from way in the beginning of the egg...
