Springs Run Farm in Marshall, VA
Our first chicks came to live at Springs Run in July of 2011. They were a pair of Mille Fleur d'Uccles that we discovered at a local poultry swap here in Virginia. I had researched the bantam breeds I was interested in, so was excited to find the d'Uccles that...
I will be very interested to hear what you get! I have spoken to the breeder of the black mottled and she mentioned the gold bleed into the black, but I know there are many project birds that are being used to effect a certain color outcome. It's all very interesting.
Just starting out with chickens...have black mottled d'Uccles, a pair of Mille Fleur, two bantam Columbian Wyandotte pullets and a pair of bantam Partridge Wyandottes. Hope to be hatching out some bantam Partridge Wyandottes this spring. Love them all!

Thank you! I really love her too. She and Albert came from the Foley's who are very nice folks and have lovely wyandottes. My mail carrier fell in love with her when I picked them up from the post office and wants to be first on the list for chicks. :-) Now if I can just hatch some...
I've been enjoying everyone's photos as well, so had to share a couple of my new bantam partridge wyandottes. This is my first year with chickens and I'm pretty excited about it. Victoria laid her first eggs this week so I'm hoping they'll be fertile to try out my new little...

On the same row (side) as the show building was Glenn See and a guy from Sharpsburg. Erin, aka Msbear, knows his name. These two gentleman had larger setups with lg fowl and bantams. Hope this helps.

Could you tell me who your breeder is? Do they have a web site?
Her BYC name is peachick and her website is: http://www.signaturefeathers.com/ She's very nice to work with and seems to know quite a bit about the color genetics. I believe she has also auctioned off eggs on BYC as well.
I have some black mottled pullets (you can see some head shots on my BYC page). Hope to add a nice black mottled rooster this spring from the same breeder who sold me my pullets. She has blue mottled too. The blue mottled are also very pretty! I'm just starting out with d'Uccles (never had...

Experience counts for very little when it comes to pronunciation, I've heard old timers call them "dee-uncles" and that makes me crazy. There isn't even an N in the name. You're going to hear every possible arguable way of saying it, so I figure pronounce it the way you want to. I...
