My 3 cayuga's are around 10 months old.
They just started laiding a month ago.
But I haven't gotten a egg from than in 2 weeks now...
And I haven't changed anything..
They laid when they want to..

Friends I would like to add two turkeys to our flock . The problem is I just don't want to deal with the stress again of online shipping.

Thanks for the reply. I thought they laided black eggs also . I know they are using the egg boxes because I see thier dropping in then. Just not sure who's laying.

After running my system for 6 months I would advise that you don't filter from the bottom up..
I pump from pond to a large strainer lined with fish filter water polishing fabric. This get clean daily and replace once a month .
I use 2 - 50 gallons barrels and 2-50 gallons tots...

Funny we got our first egg Friday.

But I would add a light inside and outside to make it easier for you when you have to go to the coop at night .
I keep solar lights around my run so I can just look outside to make sure nothing is going on
