I actually got my incubator from TSC. It was 39.99 which was on sale at the time. It is a still-Air but it works great for another $40 you can purchase an egg turner.

Try and be patient ...eventhough inside you can't take your mind off what is going on in those little shells. Oh and get plenty of rest now, cause all the peeping in the bator will keep you guessing and worring all the time. And DON"T open the lid..Try to keep it closed.

Sorry to hear about your batch..Although you have found new use for your bator, I would not give up if I was you. That is funny about using potting soil. It does keep the humdity up. Maybe a new Idea!
I live in SouthEast Texas, the weather has been fairly nice. They are in a 10 x 8 Pen outdoors. With shade during most of the day. There is grass on the grown where they are. They have plenty to do.

My Goose laid a soft shell egg before. I thought it was unique it was an egg but like rubber. I didn't think about putting it in the bator. I sure it would be easy for it to dry out. Has anyone tried it before???
