Best Incubator for a poor newbie

I actually got my incubator from TSC. It was 39.99 which was on sale at the time. It is a still-Air but it works great for another $40 you can purchase an egg turner.

    What to do?

Thank you both for the advice. I did manage to get both of the momma's off. After close inspection I notice a bad order coming from the next. After some candling I notice that all the eggs have been rotten. Turns out they have been dead a while. I guess Next time I will keep a better watch for...

Sorry to hear about your batch..Although you have found new use for your bator, I would not give up if I was you. That is funny about using potting soil. It does keep the humdity up. Maybe a new Idea!

Has anyone besides me ever been tempted...

My Goose laid a soft shell egg before. I thought it was unique it was an egg but like rubber. I didn't think about putting it in the bator. I sure it would be easy for it to dry out. Has anyone tried it before???

    Egg Carton?

That does make sense. During my first hatch my first chick to hatch was rowdy, I think she went to every egg in the bator and rolled it around. This may have cause most of mine to pip on the bottom side of the egg rather than the top???

    Egg Carton?

This may seem silly but I have seen many people place their eggs in a carton (Small end down) when they go on lock down? Does this help the chicks hatch better?

New member with too many roosters

First of all , I am new as well. I had the same problem as you with to many roos. I finally narrowed them down. Unlike you I was not as attached to them, so getting rid of them was pretty easy. However I still have 4 roos. I have a head roo, who is a Buff Orp. He rules his girls only. I have a...
