thank you! There is no redness or swelling. I have had chickens with Bumblefoot before but had the vet deal with it for me. I tried to pull it off but could not, as it seems like s very surface-level scab. I slathered it in Neosporin and wrapped it up. I am hoping this one will not need...
Hello
I’m wondering if I can reuse the same tricide neo bath for multiple hens? I have a few at different stages of bumblefoot, one who doesn’t have scab yet. Will the staph somehow get into the water and infect the others? I don’t have enough to make fresh baths for them all.
Hello
I have a hen acting a bit lethargic/ lying down in the run with her eyes closed about a month out from when she got off antibiotics (clavacillan from the vet) for salpingitis (she bounced back and was acting normal until today). I have baytril and am wondering if I should start her on a...
Thank you!
These aren't my chickens, however the images I attached look like them. The hen I was originally posting about has a stage 1 foot. Another one has the large solo image and 2 others have either stage 2 or 3. Which of these do you think need intervention?
I might do a whole other post...
One of my hens has a very small black scab on the bottom of her foot. I have seen a full blown Bumblefoot scab and this one does not compare in size. Do you recommend I still treat it? I normally use the epsom salt soak and Prid drawing salve method. Can I ignore a small one or should I go...
this is really late, but next time bring him to a farm sanctuary, they are usually willing to take roosters that would otherwise be subjected to death!
Is this kind of sand safe for me to put in my chicken's run? It currently has terrible drainage and gets very muddy every time it rains. My chickens practically all have Bumblefoot. -_- Or would gravel be better?
There are no quarry-type places around me. I have to get this stuff in a bag.
Hello,
My hen seemed to be on the brink of death a few weeks back with what was likely salpingitis. I was completely prepared for her death, really thinking there was no hope. Her stool had the beige puss masses in it and she was very very lethargic. Her stool after passing a few bouts of this...
THANK YOU! I just ordered the nu-stock. I have been bending over backwards looking for a sand that people claim has to be pure, washed, silica free, and coarse-- where do you get yours?
My Brahma’s feet feathers get pulled out my other chickens unfortunately, so she’s left with stubby bare legs. Do you think the empty pin spots are infected? Her leg was bleeding a bit today so I put her in an epsom salt bath and put neosporin on them. Should I be wrapping them in something? To...
