I ran an electric fence, two strands high, around the outside of my fence to keep the ground predators at bay. Total cost was less than $200 and I can rest knowing they should remain safe while locked up in their run and coop.
I'm stumped. Why would two chicks be like three times the size of the third? Only thing I can think of is the bigger two are roosters or turkeys? All three have the same coloration sonim guessing roosters?
We've got buff orpingtons, aurcanas, California whites, a mixed rooster and three 2 week old barred Plymouth Rock chicks. Our 12 hens, got them in March, average 8 eggs a day. Hopefully when next spring rolls around we can average a dozen or more per day.

I live in Springfield and have been buying my feed lately on Amazon from Scratch N Peck feeds. It's so expensive! Does anyone close know where I can get quality feed lime that locally, online or just less expensive? It runs $70 for a 50# bag and I go thru about 3-4 bags a month!
