Four was probably just perfect with one heat pack. When mine arrived, they seemed a little spacey. I mixed 50/50 plain Pedialyte and water...they picked up right away. I guess you never really know. Good luck with the new babies. They grow up so fast!
Could be a red, blue laced Wyandotte. I purchased one at 24 hours old with that color pattern. Looks similar to a Buff Orpington chick but has a little grey/blue area on the back towards the butt. Mine is light like yours. They told me it's most likely a girl! Good luck...
I love my Brinsea warmer. The chickens let you know when it's time to adjust up or down depending on how far they sleep from the unit. No thermometers. No hanging bulbs or difficulty hanging cords. Easy to clean. A little pricey...but for me, the ease and lack of worry were worth the money.
We lost two in transit from my Pet Chicken. Received in 22 hours...perfect packaging, but I think it was because the heat pack was too small for ten chicks. Both were Wyandottes. A third Wyandotte was doing fine, then died quickly for no apparent reason at day five. Took a driving trip to...
