Just started last year (2010) hatching my own chicks and became quickly addicted I started out with a couple BO hens, 1 Wynadotte hen, 2 Jersey Giant chicks and a Buff/Brahma Roo. I have a bunch of "mutt" chickens now (my girls <3) and no longer have the Wynadotte or Roo anymore due to a...

Can you guess the breed? :)

Gracie: ah, tis the season for people to do stupid things with wildlife. Wasn't aware of that's factor, thought it was just upon initial hatching and what they saw...again, never updated my goose knowledge :p I know much about many animal species and what they need nutritionally so I know I can...

Can you guess the breed? :)

Shelleyd: that's good to know. I looked up a whole bunch of info on dec and f&g sites but found more info on how to get a permit to destroy them than help them. Guess I should do some more research before this guy starts showing his adult feathers but if he decided to fly away when the time...

Can you guess the breed? :)

Hmm....it must be a Canada. But I guess Im really trying to figure out how these people had this little guy imprint on them without him seeing his parents or siblings first, or does that not matter as much as I may think? Pretty sure they didn't hatch it.

Can you guess the breed? :)

DuckDuck: I went to uploads, picked a file, and it gave me 2 codes under the picture to cut and paste to the forum. Other than that, I dont know another way. Maybe reload the page and try again? If you figure it out I would love to see more pictures of your African Orange ribbon: I know that...

Can you guess the breed? :)

Yeah, I've read that on other topic forums. I wanted to make sure what he was before I did that. What do you even ask? I don't want them to say let him go since he's so young and loves people as it is.

Can you guess the breed? :)

That's my guess too. No clue in where they got it from. It was very brief, they said they found it and left. Obviously a lie since this little one is so calm with people.

Can you guess the breed? :)

So I adopted a little gosling that someone dropped off at my work. He or she is already imprinted on me (or feet :p ) . I think its only about a week old but I dont know geese, only chickens. Can anyone guess the breed and age? I have an idea of breed but I would like to know what others think first

    Culling, that is the question....

Thanks everyone for talking about your experiences I have a BF who I know would help bc the rooster keeps attacking his feet. that roo doesn't bother me tho lol. I think ill go out today and look around for a hatchet that might be suitable. I think ill actually have a harder time find a stump...

    Temp at 106!

I understand semi accurate temps (obviously since I have had a couple deformities due to high temp spikes) but being very precise on everything (cleanliness, humidity, temps, etc) confuses me. I would love to see what the readings are under a chickens butt! I understand how everything needs to...
