Pros: beautiful eggs, good foragers,
Cons: aloof
I bought 2 FBCM from a breeder and ended up with one hen and one rooster. They kept to themselves and never mixed much with my other chickens. Unfortunately a fox got them. I went back to the same breeder and got two more. I ended up with one hen and one rooster. Again, these kept to themselves. When my rooster reached sexual maturity he took a liking to my brown leghorn. I guess you could say she was his main squeeze. Any ways, they got along better with the other chickens once they got older. Unfortunately, my rooster was killed by my dogs. I still have my hen, Louise, who just started laying. She gives me lovely dark brown almost red eggs and is a steady layer. I think these eggs have a better taste than the others almost nutty but maybe that's what she's been eating. She is a good forager and does well free ranging and cooped. She is finally getting close to me but still wont eat out of my hand like the rest of the chickens do. I think their eggs make great additions to your basket.

Leghorn

Pros: very sweet, excellent foragers, docile
Cons: None
I have a brown leghorn named Goose. I named her Goose because she makes this sound that reminds me of a goose honking only quieter. She's a great layer, follows me all about the yard and gets the other chickens to follow me too. When I got her she was about a month older than the other chicks and mothered them. She is the head hen and is quick to remind the other hens with a sharp peck. I free range my birds and she is a great forager. The rest of the chickens follow her wherever she goes including the roosters. She eats out of my hand and comes when called. When I pull in the drive-way after work she comes running up to the car to greet me and follows me all the way to the back door. It's so cute (of course she's hoping for treats the little pig but it always brings a smile to my face). I can't imagine a better bird than her. I have no complaints with her. She stays more alert than some of my other hens and has great survival instinct (important since I free range) but is not flighty. I highly recommend leghorns. I also had a white leghorn named Gertrude and she was very personable too. This breed is a must have!

Pros: beautiful, docile, inquisitive, with a comical personality
Cons: None
I only have one belgian d'uccle and I know all chickens have unique personalities but out of my mixed flock he has the most comical and winning personality of the bunch. Aloysius, my belgian d'uccle rooster, is extremely inquisitive. He follows me around the yard, eats out of my hand, and is the head man in charge. He is the head rooster even though my LF golden laced wyandotte rooster Goliath is 3-4 times his size. If Goliath is making my hens squak when mounting Aloysius runs over to make sure they're okay. His crow is way nicer to listen too than Goliath's. I'm in the process of integrating more hens into the flock and it's so funny to watch this little bantam chase the LF hens around. I would recommend this breed to anyone. They are docile and great entertainment to have around not to mention stunningly beautiful.

They're great!
