Pros: Quiet (some), beautiful, fiesty
Cons: Roosters very aggressive
I have had a Silver laced pullet and rooster and have had a golden laced girl. The SL pullet, unfortunatly we didn't have her long because dogs attacked our first flock, she was very quiet but was very beautiful, a great bird for beginners. We also currently have a GL pullet and she is the exact opposite, she is a fiesty girl, one of the triple trouble we call them because they are trouble makers, getting into things, scaring off the poor cats that just want to be their friend etc.but we love her and she is friendly. But the SL rooster we have is agressive...he is only a cockerel but he picks on some of the hens a little too much and has attacked us a few times...but he is a beautiful rooster and protects his flock from danger! So in all, the girls are lovely and a very nice bird to have, great for beginners as well as seasoned chicken keepers and great for show!! But the roosters can be a little aggressive.

Pros: Fluffy, nice to other chickens, a awesome pet, VERY docile, a ton of personality!, beautiful, and loads more!
Cons: NO CONS!
The cochin is one of my favorite breeds! Cochins are SO FLUFFY and VERY docile! My white cochin large fowl pullet (Paisley) gets along great with the other chickens in my flock and will let you hold her and pet her! This breed works well as a pet, sweet addition to the flock, for show, and a gorgeous bird! Their feathered feet do get a little dirtier than the clean legged breeds but we have not found it to be a problem. We have also heard that they do not lay much eggs, but she lays quite well though she will get lazy in extreme weather. Paisley has a lot of personality as well! She is very, very funny, and cute constantly! She always makes us laugh! We also have a bantam rooster and he is such a sweetie! Get's along great with our other two roosters and is in no way aggressive towards humans! I would give cochins 5+ stars if possible, you will love yours!

Delaware

Pros: Large eggs, docile, not mean toward other chickens, cold hardy
We have one young Delaware pullet and she has been great! She has just started laying and the eggs she lays are of good size, so far she has been laying on a regular basis too. She is not mean toward her flock mates and is nice to people! She is also a sweetie and very docile! The snow and cold weather have not phased her one bit! In fact, she loves going outside when there is snow on the ground! I recommend getting a Delaware if you are looking for eggs, a docile bird, and one that will not pick on other chickens in your flock! 5 stars!

Cons: None!
Both black and red stars are great to have in your flock! They lay about 1 large egg a day. They are packed full of personality! They're full of mischief! Stars are also kind to the other flock members. They are very docile and love attention! Stars are a great breed!

Barred Rock

Pros: Pretty, cold hardy, cute!
Cons: Roosters are semi-aggressive
These are some really nice birds! The barring is lovely and they have a quiet disposition! We have had both a pullet and a cockerel. The cockerel was a little aggressive toward the girls but he wasn't very aggressive. The pullet was more of a quiet girl than her flock-mates and enjoyed pets every now and then. The girls and boys are also easy to tell apart because the ales have lighter barring them the females. I have also heard they are a cold-hardy breed. Over all very kind, nice chickens!
Pros: Small, VERY friendly, beautiful, cool comb, kind to other birds but dose'nt let them push her around
Cons: ZERO!
I have had one of these as a pullet and she was great! You would have to be careful cause every time you bent down she would jump on either your head, back, or leg! The comb is very unique and plumage color is fascinating! Another great thing was her size. She was a smaller chicken than the others but not quite bantam size (as this is a LF breed). Great breed!
