Cochin

Pros: Decent layers, not overly shy, good with other birds
Cons: Too docile (easily bullied)
I've had cochins for about seven months and I love them! Mine are about three years old now, and though they lay regularly, I haven't had any go broody yet.
Pros: CUTE!
Cons: Kinda skittish, 7 months old and have yet to lay
I got 4 NN for free when I bought 3 EE last november. I had wanted some for a while, and was very glad to get them. They are the cutest and funkiest looking birds in my flock. Some are skittish, others are friendly. My only con is that they are almost 7 months old and have not yet layed a single egg.

Pros: Beautiful, curious, green eggs
Cons: Sometimes skittish, not very good layers
I got my first EE in 2009, and they quickly became my favorite standard breed. At the moment, I have 1 adult rooster (my top roo, Ugly Burd) two pullets, and 4 little babies. I will definitely always have EEs in my flock!

Pros: Lots of eggs, curious.
Cons: flighty, skittish.
Have two white leghorns. Good birds, very good layers. But they are very flighty and nervous. Still, one leghorn won Best in Show for my age class. :)

Silkie

Pros: Fluffy, friendly, and broody.
Cons: Broody, hard to care for feet.
I got my first silkies from a local breeder in 2009. I fell in love instantly! These birds are small and friendly. I get a lot of comments on the "furry chickens." The feathered feet are hard to maintain though, for those wishing to show, and the regular broodiness can be a problem. But these are well-tempered birds, great on the show table.
