The Easter Egger is not really a breed. They are relationed to the breeds Ameraucanas and Araucanas, then bred with many different breeds so they no longer fit either breed's standards. They usually have muffs and pea combs, but come in nearly every variety and color, some even have ear tufts or are rumpless. Each EE is different, but overall they are usually a smaller bird that lays pink, green, or blue eggs. They are normally friendly and calm, and their colorful eggs make them a popular choice in backyard flocks.

friendly and docile
They are well-loved for their friendly and docile temperament, making them an excellent choice for backyard flocks, especially in family settings. Easter Eggers are hardy and adaptable to different climates, particularly cold weather, thanks to their small pea combs that are less prone to frostbite

I love how people are coming together to grow this community
Pros: Pretty pattern
Calm
Cute cheeks
Colorful eggs
Cons: Skittish and gets out of brooder
Mercedes is a great hen. She is a bit skittish and flies out of the brooder, but she loves to be held. Can't wait to see her colorful eggs

Super friendly!
Pros: They love people, mine run up to me every time I walk in there
They're very cuddly, and mine really enjoy hugs
Cons: Rather loud if you don't give them attention right away
Mine tend to peck me if I don't pet them soon enough
Easter Eggers are one of the best "breeds" there are. I've had seven so far, and all of them have been super sweet. They're the first ones to greet me in the morning, and whenever I squat down, they run up to me for hugs. One of mine is blind, and she makes a LOT of noise if I go out there and don't say hi to her right away. Once I pick her up and snuggle her she quiets down instantly.

Amazing birds, five stars, would recommend!

We have one EE and she is not the sweetest or most personable bird. We got her as an adult and she was not handled much so I suspect that has something to do with her disposition. If I were to describe her personality, I would have to say "crotchety old maid". She is, however, one of our best layers. Her eggs are beautiful, large, and profuse in number. She actually taught our young birds to roost and to put themselves to bed in the coop at dusk, so she's is definitely a worthwhile bird if not the friendliest.

I have 2 Easter eggers, (From what TSC said.) They're both hens and Both Sweet, They dont have much of any cheek or puffs though, just a weird pony tail or something going on at the top of their head, its so weird, I have never seen it ever before.

My lone Easter egger developed a off set beek, could not eat on her own, felt bad and thought this is unfair and no way for a chicken to live , when the other 11 chickens peeked and scratched on the ground, she was alone but was reading on this site about possibilities. Started mixing chicken food and water, like a chicken oatmeal and soft human food, I feed her by hand 2 times a day, if I get the right consisitcy and amount in the cup of my hand, she drives her beek into it a little harder than normal and chugs it down. love it when I come home from work, I call out and she is so happy to see me, I feed her till full, lays a beautiful green egg 3 times a week. We also adopted a 3 year old, our neighbors gave us, sweet bird.
We have a Rooster, 4 months old, his beak isn't crossed but he can't close his mouth. He is our biggest bird, I think because he only eats out of the feeders, He tries to peck around the yard but doesn't get much, we give them a treat of bread every morning, he can't hang on to it. I feel so sorry for him when the girls grab it as soon as he drops his piece. We try and try to give to him special but he just can't hold on. Not too worried about him though as he is the biggest bird we have

We LOVE our sweet EE, "Robyn." Here's a pic of her taken last July 2018. She gifts us with beautiful light green eggs during laying months.

I got 4 EE pullets from Tractor Supply this past spring. They are fine and quite handsome birds, but have not started laying yet. This might have something to do with the fact that all 4 have started CROWING.

OH NO!!! That's my luck. I was given 6 chickens for free. One started crowing within 2 weeks and about 2 months later 2 more started.
