Offer some wet mushy feed, see if that helps get things moving.
It does sound like he may have consumed too much sand or grit. Hopefully he'll be able to pass the material.
I'm glad Daffodil is eating/drinking on her own now and doing much better.
The next girl, how lovely is she!
I'd check her crop each morning before she eats/drinks, if it's not emptying then treat as Sour Crop. I don't think it Pendulous at this point, usually you see that in much older...
😂 Sorry!
Glad it's not an eye pus or eye worm video then, that would have been bad. FYI, eye worms are fairly rare in the US except in tropical areas, but they are pretty common in other parts of the world. It's interesting to see, but disturbing to see a mass of tiny worms with pus pushed...
In the video, it's hard to tell, does she have any crusty material in her eye?
Check inside her beak for any lesions or canker.
I'd lean toward this possibly being respiratory infection. Do you have any Tylosin on hand?
Welcome To BYC
Hopefully the swelling is from injury. I see a little scabbing/minor scratches on Pancake's comb on that side.
I'd put a little Terramycin eye ointment or Original Neosporin in and around the eye twice a day for a few days to see if that helps reduce some of the swelling...
:hugs Thank you for the update.
I'm glad that Flurry is getting care from the vet and hope she is able to help her more. I'm sure it was a hard decision to surrender her and I know you will miss her, but you did what was best for her and you.
How did you search on amazon. I've found you have to use an assortment of words to get "better" results.
Search for "chicken theme hoodie", etc.
Also look at Etsy, often there's a nice variety of interesting themes.
Lastly, search google. Yeah, I know a lot of people don't use it, but...
Both legs look swollen to me.
She may be suffering from a leg deformity, Valgus Varus. But with both joints swollen like that MS (Mycoplasma Synoviae) also comes to mind. I'll tag in @Eggcessive to see if she may have some thoughts too.
A lot depends on what's causing this. If swelling is...
Hopefully this will help it drain some while you are gone.
I figured it may stress him. Electrolytes for a couple of days while you are gone would be good if your family can mix some up for him. If you don't have that, a little sugar water (1tsp per 1cup water) to give him a little boost to...
I agree, I'd treat with the Corid and see if that helps.
If the crop is now doughy, give him a stool softener in addition to the miconazole 2x a day. See if that helps break it up.
The shaking is concerning, is he still doing that?
I'm so happy to hear things are going well!
What pretty colored eggs! I don't have any hens that lay "colors" just shades of brown/tan and cream(ish). I think I may have to get some chicks next year!
Glad everyone is gaining and beginning to lay. 8wk pullets can look scruffy, they will go...
Check her for lice/mites.
Look inside her beak, does she have any lesions or canker inside the beak?
It looks like she has an eye infection. I'd clean/flush the eye with saline, remove all the crusties and clean it the feathers the best you can, then put some Terramycin eye ointment in the...
