    Rattus norvegicus GRAPHIC PHOTOS WARNING!

That is a big rat... I think I've caught something similar, but in a humane trap set for a local raccoon who was prowling around. Now, what do I do with it? I don't want to go near it. It has been in the humane trap for 24 hours (which I don't feel great about) and still alive (thanks to the 2...

Silver Laced Wyandotte hen or rooster?

if it is helpful, I posted some pics of my SLW on my "meet the flock" page. I think they are both hens after some research. They would be much more roostery by now I understand. Plus the fluffy feathers on the butt are a hen trait, is that right? I am new to this, but HTH!

    Uh oh... rooster?

Quote: well, they have their moments of crowing... say, when I don't let them out of the coop early enough or when a chipmunk is in their face (LOL).. overall tho they are pretty quiet... I'm going to hope for all hens too. Will let you all know if I have a rooster in here! thanks again

    Uh oh... rooster?

I've been scanning the boards trying to get a read on whether my Peck is a she or a he... took a new picture today here she is after a loud cackle/crowing session. Peck is very skittish and the lowest on the ladder in the flock at this point here she is with Bella, (Peck is on the left...

Coop finished! thought I would share

I haven't seen a need to worry about cleaning the run..should I? I do access the run from the top rear (to drop in treats). They are also out in the yard for about 1/2 of the day, so maybe that helps?
