My production has slowed way down. I have 3 that are about 8 months old and am only getting one egg a day if I'm lucky. Weird for the first year I think.
Hey capayvalleychick, our 6 month old Shorthair is from Capay Valley!
Anyone local looking for a nice cockerel? I have a 12 week Ameraucana/EE that needs a home.
what do you all think? I'm sure its a cockerel and i'd love to keep him but we can't have roo's. I'm in Livermore, CA if anyones interested. He's about 3 months old.
It's a Ameraucana/EE

Windows, ramp, tin roof and most of it trimmed out in white and the rest painted green.
I had a local sheetmetal place make me a droppings drawer that helps when I need to clean the coop.

I just introduced my 18 week old girls to my adults. I'm putting both starter and Layena out so I hope that's ok. I only have one hen house big enough for all of them to roost. The smaller one I built is really small now that the "chicks" are big.
Should I worry?

Last year was pretty weak. I didn't even see any showing just a few in a outside pen and those had blood in their droppings. It was pretty disappointing.
We just had a daughter about 8 months ago and named her Piper. We had a few others but for whatever reason they never stuck but I like them:

Is it possible to go broody more than once a year?
I had two of my girls go broody a month ago and they just started again. I think it may be because the weather has warmed again.
