Building an in-ground pond.... any tips to make it chicken safe?

I can't wait, I plan to pipe in off the well with a float also so that it stays full all year. I'm hoping that my chicken/duck yard will eventually be kind of a mini-orchard with fruit trees, grape vines and other edible plants for them and us.

Building an in-ground pond.... any tips to make it chicken safe?

I’m thinking around 8-12 ft diameter. It would be around 2000 gallons. I’m planning on having a submersible pump with a fountain n the center. Probably would line it with a traditional pond liner and then place rock on top of that.

Building an in-ground pond.... any tips to make it chicken safe?

That is what I was thinking. I want it big enough that my ducks (and hopefully geese soon) can swim and enjoy it so it should be easy enough to slope the sides in. My hubby thinks I've lost my mind but oh well :D

Building an in-ground pond.... any tips to make it chicken safe?

I currently have 8 ducks that live with my chickens. I've had kiddie pools for them and while that works well enough, I would like to build an in-ground pond for them. I have 10 acres so space is not an issue. Any tricks or design tips to help keep the pond as chicken safe as possible?

I'm afraid I would tell him that he misrepresented her to me and that since she is mine, the babies will be also. I hate when people try to pull shady crap like that!

    Getting Goat kids

I do think I want to breed them. I have had male goats before so I know what to expect. I am considering buying a whether and another female so I can separate when needed.

    Getting Goat kids

We ended up naming them Bonnie and Clyde because for the first few days they were like wild little outlaws. They kept getting out and then making me chase them:barnie But now they come running no matter what they are doing:love I'm glad yours are taming down nicely, its waaay more fun when...

    Winterizing coop, Coastal South Texas

Bitterly cold for us is admittedly quite a bit warmer although we will dip down into the 30s frequently enough to be concerning. We generally do keep a relative humidity of 70-80% . That, combined with the wind which is generally 15-20 knots. Even now, my barn feels damp. I just want to make...
