Hello forum. I sure wish I came to you before it was too late. I just didn't know how to post things or use the site that well. I would like to ask you to please be gentle with the way to respond, as I am very upset and just need advice. I am planning on trying again and getting two more...

1. Tell us a bit more about yourself.
I'll begin this interview with a proper Comanche...
Oh, I remember trying to learn all the vocabulary when my kids got into showing poultry.....They had to know all sorts of stuff about birds if they wanted to have a fighting chance at placing in poultry showmanship, so I sort of picked it up by contamination.
So, just some quick terms to help...
It is important for any diagnosis to provide the symptoms leading up to the death. If it was sudden and you did not see the death then what position was the body in? Was it stretched out and stiff, was it just clumped and limp, was the head stretched toward the front or back, etc.? Otherwise...
So today I went out to feed my ducks and chicken and usually they all come run and eat (They have seperate pens). When I went into the chicken coop i noticed Snuggles, the hen, just laying there with her eyes closed, arching her back, so I figured she was just laying a egg or sleeping. About 10...
Weights:
Allie: 4lb, 6 oz
Latsey: 2lbs, 3oz - Now I have to tell you... Since the 'lings hit 1lb, I have been rounding the ounces since the decimal ounces don't really matter any more. On 3/27, Latte weighed 1lb, 5.9oz, Casey weighed 1lb, 6.2oz - both of these were reported as 1lb, 6oz... Since...
No idea! I hope you get some answers!
You did what you could and at least you have some babies, like you said. But you do have a new incubator now. ;) if you change your mind you know where to find us and we can get you through the whole incubation and hatch! :hugs
I'm sorry. I've seen many...
Hi there

I live in New Zealand where it is currently mid winter. We had a really warm autumn this year and as a result a few of the local wild ducks...
I brought a sick duckling home from the feed store yesterday bc well, that's how I am. It was returned by a mother of a little girl who "loved" it a lot. When it started acting weird the mom brought it back. It looks like it could be duck hepatitis after reading on the internet (matches...
Ok, this is not a chick question but a duckling question. I brought a sick duckling home from the feed store today bc well, that's how I am. It looks like it could be duck hepatitis after reading on the internet (matches symptoms exactly.) My kids and I have been handling it and I'm now a little...
I have ten 6 week old ducks. Today i found one, neck archedbackwards and legs stiff in the brooder. Helped him up and he trembled for a minute and walked off like nothing happened.
I just walked back a a DIFFERENT duck did the same thing.
What is going on?! They are eating and drinking...
When they are ready to finish the hatch, the vessels will be gone from the membranes - the process can take hours. I will assist when they have been hanging around in their shells not doing anything for the better part of a day, or if they are calling in obvious distress. The duck we assisted...
Multiple choice question here. How do you spell the middle day of the week?

The rattlesnakes used to always hang out in our slab pile left over from the sawmill.
Great for rodent control but I understand not wanting them around the kids...
I have a Pekin Duck who has flopped on to her back arching her stomach and flapping her wings. She has done this 3 times that I know about. I flipped her over and tried to comfort her but then all of a sudden she just started walking around. She seems real slow but she is drinking water and...
Okay so I just wanted to hop on here and talk about an experience I had so that maybe someone could gain from me.
So May 4th, 2016 I got 2 buff goslings from Murry McMurry (highly recommend) and they were perfect!
I put them in a Guinea Pig cage I had, attached a heat lamp, 85 degrees, and added...
I think before you decide this is hepatitis try some Brewers yeast sprinkled over their feed, Niacin dif can cause neurological problems and this maybe what you are seeing. Or if you have some super B complex you can sprinkle this into their water. If this is the problem you should know in a few...
Read the section on botulism. As miss Lydia said I would get the activated charcoal or Epsom salts ( magnesium sulphate ) and flesh them out. Mouldy feed can be toxic.

Other than the fact that I just LOVE everything about the Whites, I would have probably gravitated towards the easiest to develop anyway, here in my old age. I don't have much time left to me to reshape a breed that's too far out of whack.
I wish more folks recognized their...
