Anyone know where I can get Pekin ducklings? I was supposed to get some from someone on craigslist but haven't heard back from them and they aren't answering my e-mails. I looked at the TSC in Brentwood but they only had mallards.
Thanks,
Angie
I was in Dodge Grain on Rte 28 Salem on Friday...

Is that the 2012 Chicken Swap listing on page one of this thread?
It doesn't have the year listed there! The first swap of 2012 is March 10th...is that right?
So my barred rock has laid 4 micro eggs in a row this week do I need to be concerned she has a serious issue going on with her reproductive tract. By all accounts she seems to be acting normal. Out and about and eating, drinking, pooping as normal. She is approx. 10 months old and started laying...
Oh that's so hard when there are children envolved but it could be a good learning experience for them as well.
I was gonna suggest a rock pile ceremony as well. That is of course if you have rocks that are accessible and not covered by show. Maybe you could find a nice box for her and line it...
I can't believe it but my Golden Comet appears to have frostbite! Argh..I'm so mad.
I've been keeping such a close I on them. I don't have any condensation problems in my coop she appears to be the only one affected. I have an Amberlink with a fairly big comb. She is fine. The only thing I can...
Coop de Danville: The creation of our coop.
Delivery of the 6x10 ft. run in shed found on clearance at local swing store. April 2011.
Working hard to finish off the inside so we can move the chicks out of the garage. Insulated the walls with styrofoam sheets covered by plywood. Then applied...
Is this a norm or an exception for birds to live as long as 9 years? I was kinda under the impression from people I've talked to that birds often just up and die of natural cause often at 3 years of age! It would be kinda cool to think that my first flock of chickens could potentially live that...
If you decide you want another rooster you should check your local animal shelters to see if they have a poultry adoption program. I live in NH and there is a local SPCA in Massachusetts Nevins Farm that takes in roosters to place them for adoption. Right now they have alot of roosters available...
Hi there,
I am new to chickens. This is my first flock. I have 8 hens total. My best layers are my Golden Comet and my Amberlink. Both have been laying a large to jumbo size brown egg every day since 8/30/2011. Consistently thru this winter so far every day. They are approx 9 months old now...
BTW can I show you my fabulous find at my local walgreens...
Chicken holiday lights...
I just noticed someone in the other neighborhood has full size pig lights with santa hats...how fun...it's like Christmas down on the farm!
Hi everyone,
Just want to say Happy Holidays to everyone!
Things are going great with the chickens I bought from Cheryl and Greg earlier in May of this year. We are enjoying our unseasonably mild winter thus far.
The two new birds I've added to the established flock are finally settling in...
I posted a few weeks back about my broody silkiexhen. I tried to break her about a week and a half ago by placing her in a wire rabbit cage for 36hours with no bedding but food and water. When I went to coop to check on her she was pacing back in forth wanting to get out. Placed her back in run...
