haven't been out to check this morning....hope its better now, like you suggested. I cannot use permethrin because my cats have a SERIOUS allergy to it (as do allllll cats), All three were hospitalized with seizures and nerve damage when my husband accidentally put ONE drop of it on them...
So I noticed some major mites the other day, so today while i was off i treated both chickens and coop. I "dipped" the chickens in a bucket filled with a pyrethrin mixture. Then I completely cleaned out the coop and run and fogged the coop and sprayed the run with pyrethrin also. Just went...
...since yesterday evening. Should I do something? Or if they don't even pip, is it considered that they are dead? humidity is sitting sround 55* and temp is waving between 99-101. This is a home made incubator. Any suggestions? Thanks. They are kind of special to me, as I had a power...
If I have to splint my little guys leg, how would i do that? I have vet wrap, he is 3-4 weeks old so hes getting bigger. When i set it, Is it straight and at what joint? Anywhwre I can find a picture to help me? thanks!
My little 3-4 week old blue runner has a leg injury. I puts no weight on its right leg and it just hangs there with no response to my touch. Can i splint, if so how do i do this? what should i do, i am dumbfounded here....thanks so much, this little one has been through alot, it lost its two...
thanks guys, I got them at the local Orscheln's store. I just can't resist, I always say "I have a lake, so why not?" My crested pekins from last year are toooooo cute out there, no babies so i suppose they r the same gender.
I didn't think pekins had the grey on them, does that indicate a gender? I have 2 ccrested pekins and they were all yellow when they were ducklings.
The blue/grey one does stand very high, so the makes sense if he/she is a runner!
I posted this under the chicken section for breeds and thought i'd put it here to. thanks, oh and I do think the little brown one is a chocolate runner.
Got three little cuties that I have no idea what they are, anyone know duck species? Here's 4 pics, The big grey one is a few weeks older...

she's brooding 3 eggs due on sunday.....will they be okay outside? It's pretty cold here in Missouri lately. I have heard that mom will keep them warm, but im nervous!
hi, I just candled the eggs under my broody hen, two look exactly the same as they did last week, one is all dark and I can just make out the outline of the air cell. It is actually day 16, but on Fri or Sat she was OFF the nest for about 8 hours---dont kow if they even survived, but if so i...
...eflew out because the door was open and i guess she couldn't get back up into the area. She was off the eggs for 9 HOURS almost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily it was the warmest weather we've had all week, but still around 40*. Is there anyway those eggs are...
hi, hopefully i will have chicks next weekend (3 eggs under momma now!), when they hatch they will stay in the coop with mom, my question is---can I have just chick food in there for babies AND mom? They are seperated from the rest of the flock, but in the same coop
nice! hey what kind of chicken is that---the white one with black around neck and on tail? I have one that looks like it's twin and i always thought he was a mix?
