P.S I am not looking for meat
After considering general attributes, I've narrowed down my decision on Brown Leghorns or Barred Plymouth rocks.
Thanks everyone!
@ChickKat, Yes I do live on the Gold-coast in the hinterland away from all the hustle and bustle of Brisbane!
Your suggestion of Plymouth rock is a good one and is one of the breeds I am considering, I like their attributes and especially their looks. The one thing I have not read is about...
I'm looking for new chickens for free-ranging with guinea fowl.
Currently I'm thinking of brown(preferable) leghorns. I've heard they're quite skittish and able to fly a lot better than the average chicken, I'm thinking this will be great for free ranging and predators. I live in Australia...
Thx everyone there was doubt in my mind, It's done now and I feel that I've done the right thing by my birds and future birds
I'm bombing the chook house tonight with zydox...
Thx again

As for how I think I got it, Either through getting a couple new chickens 6+ months ago, Or.... a friend who seems to always have sick chickens that wears the same clothes (gum boots, jumpers etc) when dealing with her chooks and looking at mine.

Thank you!
I ended up seeing a poultry vet and they've been pumped with antibiotics... they are in good health, We'll see what the future holds...

The family of "tetracycline antibiotics" that you recommended which is in oxymav B, great!
In regards to the use of Oxine, That is not avalible in Australia, is this the same thing? I'll ask them my self soon when they wake...
Originally I thought it was related to food being a bit finer with the chooks sneezing, that's not the case..
They were sneezing for over a month, not chronic tho, every now and then. Lately it's gotten colder to about 10-15c some times of night which I believed has sparked the sickness...
Today I followed a hen accross the road who had a nest of 19 eggs, I took her back to the coop and put those eggs in the nest in hopes she would stay there, that didn't work ofcourse.
Here's the strange thing, My Australorp rooster made a nest, separated some ferns in a corner between a water...

Today after letting the chooks out I noticed one of my hens scoot off and up on the road. I picked her up, put her back with the other chooks.
she then sprinted off back....This time I decided to follow her, where I found 20 eggs!
How lucky... I was browsing thru the pet adds and... There is a lady selling 8 week old guineas at a very reasonable price, my 2 are 9 weeks old now!
Question:
When I get 8 more guineas, Is it ok to introduce them straight away to each other? or should they be penned from each other for a...
My mother said that she thought she heard guineas outside, So I went to look...
(night time)
I got closer to the pen, 3 dead guineas on the ground.. 2 alive 4 missing... 10 weeks old. Heads missing, signs of struggle all throughout the coop, feathers and blood. Sounds like a possum..
Really...
Very interesting, thanks.
In the last couple weeks my 9 keets have been changing tones, it sounds like on estimation there are roughly the same amount of boys to girls (Yes i know I have 9 and can't be 1:1) or maybe a few more boys to girls.
In your opinion, roughly how many boys should I...
So I was taking a picture as I normally to see how much they've grown, etc... When I came across this!
They're having a great time inside the chook house
